The Personal Rapid Transit benefits described on this Website indicate that PRT has some great attributes but how do they measure up to other
modes? This section compares a mature and widely implemented Personal Rapid Transit system to existing automobile/street/highway
and conventional transit systems such as bus or light rail. The Personal Rapid Transit system's attributes such as speed and headway are
based on those derived from first principals elsewhere (mostly in Analysis of Capital Costs).
A detailed discussion justifying the ratings given can be downloaded. The discussions are based on analyses of the laws
of physics and data provided by owners and operators of Personal Rapid Transit and other systems in operation for more than five years.
Input from PRT vendors has not been considered.
